As I reflect on how the Church has become obsessed with blessings equating to material things, Holy Spirit shared with me blessings is multi-dimensional. What do I mean by this?
Blessings should never be limited to just material things i.e. houses, cars, jewelry, nice clothing, etc. but we should desire a greater blessing in that of peace, joy, love, wholeness, health, being able to forgive others, etc. Material blessings come and go, but being healthy and have peace and joy doesn't compare. Why, you might ask? The Word tells us these things, material things, will parish and become tarnished, corrupted by moths. Our joy, peace, love, health, and wholeness will not become tarnished when we remain in Christ and walk by the Word of God.
To be blessed multi-dimensional also the spiritual by having spiritual gifts, being called to ministry by the Father, the impartation of revelations and being able to give the interpretation.
You see, blessings is multi-dimensional and only the mature will obtain it. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Truth be told, we can always obtain material things when we are healthy spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. We won't have to spend so much time working at gaining wealth.
Most don't truly get to enjoy their blessing(s) because their focus is on obtaining the next blessing or even more material things they really don't need.
Don't allow yourself to become consumed and even contaminated by the world's portrayal of you can only be blessed by wealth and fame. Some of us desire to have healthy relationships with family members, a stable job, or a stronger relationship with the Father.
Christ's birth and death does not present us with the results of having all these things, this is why the Word talks about a man with riches entering the eye of the gate of a City is nearly impossible. Matthew 19:23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
It's time for us to redirect our focus on the multi-dimensional blessing rather than the one dimensional.
