As I was reading the newsfeed of one of my social media pages, one statement that repeated 2-3 times was, "I don't need nobody else" or even as one gospel singer's song says, "As long as I got King Jesus, I don't need nobody else." Both of these statements are very misleading and even contradict the Word of God according to #Genesis 2:18 - "And the #LORD #God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” (#NKJV)
Taking into careful thought these words, no man or woman should make the aforementioned statement in any variation. It is understood that one chooses to remain single and that due to disappointments we at times feel like we can't depend or count on anyone else other than Father God; however, we must be more careful of what we speak as #scripture further teaches us in #Proverbs 18:20 - A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. (NKJV) The entire chapter is a continuation of the "contrast between #righteousness and #wickedness." Understanding the overall purpose of this writing is to make a distinction between the behaviors of the righteous and wicked. A righteous person is a #wise and #prudent individual whereas a wicked person often is just the opposite. A wicked or unwise person will speak out of the abundance of their heart or emotions causing what they speak to be contrary or go against the promised Word of God. Therefore, even in our most trying of times, we must be careful of the words we use.
One may say, "well God knows what I mean." But what many are not understanding is that what we speak, we give life to it. So many #Believers lay blame to Satan for many of the bad things that happen to them failing to realize it is what they spoke that now has life and has been activated. Yes, Satan may have a hand in what is unfolding but remember, we created it. Reflecting on another scripture or verses of scripture in Genesis, everything Father God spoke became and from that there was fruit.
My purpose for this blog is to keep us in remembrance of what we speak becomes life.
I also posted a brief statement on this subject sharing, if we only need God and nobody else, then why am I not on my own island? Stating we don't need anyone other than God is contrary to the truth. Mankind was created that we would be dependent, not to the point of abandoning our dependency on Father God, on each other in some ways. This is an automatic established system. When God created this very system that many are rejecting, He did it with full confidence, in His supremacy, not feeling threatened when we become more dependent on each other than Him, we would recognize our error. If God only wanted us to depend on Him, why are there countless scriptures that speaks of healthy relationships with each other as His children? Let us always remember that nothing we do moves God to question who He is and His ability to be Almighty, All-powerful, Supreme in all authority.
As much as possible, before speaking anything I give thought to what does the Word of God have to say about a thing to ensure I'm not speaking against His pre-ordained divine will. Let us no longer speak such words that appear to be powerful and have an impact, because in all actuality our words do have an impact but not in our favor. We do need each other for various reasons, but let us always allow the Word and Spirit of God lead us and not allow our emotions to dictate the words we speak.
Don't set your own trap by the words you speak.
Don't set your own trap by the emotions you feel.
Don't set your own trap by what your eyes see.
Don't set your own trap by what you do.
We are often ensnared by the very traps we ourselves set.
I leave with you this scripture of meditation:
